The Canon PowerShot S3 IS digital camera comes with many features that photographers look for in a camera. The S3 IS has four times digital zoom and twelve times optical zoom with a built in flash. The camera also supports auto-focusing technology and has an optical viewfinder. The built in flash can be turned off and on and has red eye reduction capabilities. The flash range is up to seventeen feet for wide images and up to thirteen feet for telephotos. The camera also has two sizes for the movies up to 1GB. The camera does use four AA batteries and the ideal batteries are the rechargeable type. With the alkaline batteries, the user will get one hundred and ten shots, but with the rechargeable batteries, the camera gets five hundred and fifty shots.
