Before my new Canon SX10IS camera I had a small digital. There is no comparison. We were just at the beach for a week and I could zoom in on boats out in the Gulf of Mexico so clearly you could read the name of the ship. When you put it into macro you are zooming in at 80x when at full zoom! It is wonderful! I am only 1/3 thru the instruction manual and can not believe what all this camera can do.
